behind the blogger tag ft. cherry blossoms photos I took in jan.

hello, fellow cherrins (children)!

at least I think it’s spelled that way, I have no idea, oh my world, my friend is rubbing off on me so much. aaand, not all of you are children.

I should really come up with better intros.

12 Autumn Moments
Happy Earth Day, btw.

I’m so glad to be typing these words right now! I wrote a blurb from about half- a- month back, and I’m relieved to say everything’s cool now, but I wanted to just let you guys know. Feel free to skip to the end.

— I’ve actually had sososo many content ideas, and if I had time, I would just write a post every day. But alas. I’m going to be 100% honest and say that I’ve been under immense pressure for the last several months. Because of this, I constantly feel an urge to write super long posts with amazing photos, rich with content that I have to spit out like a machine, and it’s been kind of hard with timeliness and other responsibilities. I’ve never thought about quitting blogging (I love it so much, and I just reached 40 readers of Written in Stars?? I’m so happy -cries tears of joy-) but at one point, I thought I would take a hiatus. So what you can expect are posts that are going to be wonderful (because it’s me, obviously XD) but just infrequent. Now, I’m going to stop rambling! —

I was nominated by the awesome Genna, whose blog is such a beautiful, chaotic, and wonderful place, WHAT ARE YOU DOING CHECK IT OUT NOW.
Right on, let’s get into it -throws confetti-

Rules:

  • thank the person who nominated (thank youuuuu, genna :))
  • answer all the questions down below
  • pingback to the creator: ellyn@allonsythornaxx
  • nominate 5+ bloggers you’d like to know more about to do this tag

Let the questions come forth!

Why did you start blogging & why have you kept blogging?

I first started blogging because of three things if I remember correctly from my first post:

  • I want my voice to be heard. I want to tell a story.
  • To meet new people.
  • I want to inspire people, young or old, like the blogs I read inspire me.

Aaa, it’s emotional to read the words of little me.
But anyway, I’ve definitely done all of those things, and my purpose is still mainly the same: sharing a part of me to the world with the hopes that others will share something back. It’s been over a year for me, and one HECK of a ride.

What is your favorite type of blog post to write?

Haha, HAHA. Ha. I don’t think it’s possible to pretend that I have a niche for this question, cuz’ I write all sorts of posts, loosely centered around inspiration. I love the interview section (The Mood Show; see: if I became a talk show host for “the one memory of flora banks”) and I actually love the monthly wrap-ups (ahem, only one of them). Really, whatever I’m passionate about at the moment. The “I need to write about this a.s.a.p. moments”.

What are your top 3 favorite blog posts?

Ok, I’m not even kidding, there should be a disclaimer on here, like: be warned: this tag may or may not require a box of tissues. I mean honestly, so many memories! Agh. Fine. -crosses arms-

Give them a read, it would make me so happy :))

What are some of your favorite things to do to relax?

First of all, reading, because I’ll most likely want to relax from a long, long week, or a really stressful few days- sinking into my bed with a whole new world at my fingertips is the perfect way to unwind! -Now excuse me while I sing the entire Aladdin soundtrack-
I also love to write (of course), spend time with family, watch a movie (bonus points: noir.. yea, I’m one of those strange people who actually ENJOY old movies -audible gasps-). Oh, listening to music is also really high on the list. For me, music is as important as worlds, and I would not be without it. Just plugging my headphones in, and listening to some tunes is wonderful.

What are your three favorite things?
Uh, I basically just mentioned it up there (oops) but I’m going to choose another three:

  • Photography
  • Traveling
  • Writing

Excuse me for being basic, but it’s true.

What are your proudest blogging moments?

My proudest blogging moments are:

  • Nailing a graphic (which takes me an unbelievable amount of time, I can’t even. Probably because I waste so much time…)
  • My interview with Nabila
  • Getting nominated for tags and awards! It’s just such a nice feeling to know that someone was typing away at their keyboard and thought of you while doing so.
  • My collab with Veda, of course, this had to be on the list. It took hours but it was SO worth it. And her dog. Her dog will always be worth it.

What are your hobbies outside of blogging?

I’m an artist, believe it or not. I’m really awful at sketching, but I’m fairly decent with other mediums. I also love making collages out of magazines, pulling together words, … someone like me basically lives on Pinterest, not even kidding. I also love gardening. I remember in the summer of after 4th grade, I worked with my entire family to take care of my garden, and ever since, I’ve been in love. Guys, this is also just me grasping for straws on ideas, I’m not that interesting of a person.

Describe your personality in three words.

Aah, this is going to be interesting.

  • Calm: a lot of people describe me to be so.
  • Incandescent: I can be undyingly passionate about something.
  • Soft-spoken: According to a lot of people, because my voice is pretty quiet.

I’m also distracted, uh, a lot. I’m not sure if this is ADD speaking, but I tend to kinda drift away/daydream. I also feel (tOo MuCh) and the last one is purely up to you :))

What are your top three pet peeves?

  • Being told that I’m “too young” to grasp a concept. This happens [mostly] with strangers, but I think part of why it frustrates me so much is that they don’t even know me, and make assumptions about how smart I am just by looking at me :((
  • I have to agree with Apollo on this one- group projects. Absolute worst. Outside of school, like with P.S.A’s or with extracurriculars or optional stuff, sure. But I just cannot handle group-assigned projects at school. I’m more of a “flying solo” person there, and I’m not the only one.
  • Speaking of school, my history teacher who makes grammar mistakes in EVERY single one of her slideshows. Which are neon? Lectures in her class make me grouchy 😦

0106-2019-121500315839104566430188149061600796478404.jpeg

Those are all the questionsssss.

anna @ a story nerd’s life

kinsey @ over the withers

olivia @ purely olivia

thony @ thony’s space

1) So sorry!

Okay, guys, I’m counting down the days left for summer vacation, and according to my blog calendar, there are 12 days to go, and 9 actual days of school. It’s going to be splendid -crosses fingers-

In the meanwhile, we must endure alienated classes within four concrete walls (some of us) while the days keep passing by.

What are you guys looking forward to during summer? Isn’t Genna’s blog so cool?

xx Vaishnavi

Ooh! Awesome fun tag! I might just steal it *slyly swipes post* OMG YES GROUP PROJECTS WILL BE THE DEATH OF ME. (and O, I might add XD). So will our history teacher’s lectures 😤 because WHY can’t she use normal colors?? And watch her grammar??

    • Vaishnavi says:

ah, thanks, I added you to the nominee list, so hopefully you won’t want to steal it xD. YES YES YES. group projects should be BANISHED TO THE DEPTHS OF HIFFLE, HOME FOR INFINITE LOSERS. siriously, there’s an insanely long reddit thread for this too. also, yes. every time I see an its, not it’s or a word highlighted in neon green, underlined in red, placed above a black text box, and covered up by a picture, I just want to groan out loud and leave class. whyyyyyyy -sheds a single tear for all the lost punctuation-

Haha, cool beans 😀 NO I will die by the hands of a group project, I’m telling you! GO TO HIFFLE.
omg IKR. she makes me cryyy ok?? And that pun was gold. Remember that long pun war we had?? 😂😂😂

yesss, I so agree 😆 like, you can’t do any worse than this, this is the absolute low. and when teachers wave those peer evaluation sheets in our face.. 😒 aaa, I feel youuu, maybe I should just keep a box of tissues in my backpack to be prepared. but AT LEAST we finished all the lectures of the year -so traumatized, she doesn’t want to think of what would happen elsewise- ah, thank you, I was almost ready to give up, you were wayyy too good 👉😅🤣 (just a fourth off).

Group projects 😫 Especially in that class you don’t have friends in & the teacher’s like ‘get into a group of 5’ (or some other ridiculously high number) I JUST CRY 😭

    • Vaishnavi says:

elllll, you feel me girl, let’s cry about the tyranny of group projects together, haha. at the moment teachers do that everything just stops, and without fail, I think, “how? how can this be?” — a moment of shock for about 30 good seconds. I’d be lucky if I ever have a friend in my team (at least them).. they’re the ones who make it bearable; how about you?

      Liked by 1 person

      • El says:

I know! That one friend that makes it bearable! Oh! But you know there’s also that really horrible feeling when you want to go with your friend but you have to split up to go in other groups 😭

        • Vaishnavi says:

noooo! yes, I remember last year, I only had one solid friend in my class, and though we did group projects all the time, I was never sorted with her 😤 group projects WILL be the end of me!

Cool post! It was fun to learn a little more about you, and the cherry blossoms are very pretty. Wow, your personality actually sounds a lot like mine. I speak quietly, and I’m really calm, but I’m also very passionate about certain things. Have you ever taken a personality test?

    Liked by 1 person

    • Vaishnavi says:

I know right?? the flowers want to look especially beautiful for you guys. that is so. cool. a lot of people have described me that way.. I actually have taken a test! my myer-briggs type is an infj/advocate, and does being a ravenclaw count?? what about you?

      Liked by 1 person

      • Grace says:

Oh wow, that’s my personality type is INFJ and house is Ravenclaw too! That’s amazing! Maybe it’s why we like each other’s writing. XD But seriously, it’s really cool that we’re so similar.
Are you a sort of extroverted-introvert, too? If that makes sense? As in you enjoy conversing with people but also recharge from time with yourself? That’s what I am. Not the stereotypical reclusive turtle of an introvert that hides in its shell after saying hello, but enjoys talking to people and hanging out and then reads a book by itself?

GRACE, IT WAS MEANT TO BE. do you believe in coincidences? I believe they’re God’s way of sending a message and this is just mind-boggling. it really is, I’ve never met someone so similar to me!
oh, but I guess the road ends there -cue the viola- I know that many ambiverts are described that way. I guess it really depends on my mood. I know, so helpful. but some days, I would love having full in-depth, long conversations with people, but others, I kind of need to be in my own space, you know? haha, yes, I can just imagine that stereotype wrapped up in a comic strip. but I can’t blame them! to be honest, I can be like that to my friends sometimes in real life, because.. well.. I have anxiety. this can make it really hard to talk to anyone, regardless of who they are, and if I could see myself, I’d probably see a super quiet and isolated person. this can make it really hard for me to talk to people sometimes– so I guess, many factors can affect our personas. it kinda sucks -violin goes deeper/becomes more dramatic- but we all have to live with our demons, right?
anyway, that totally went off course- sorry! but regardless of any personality type, I honestly think you’re such an awesome and inspiring person to talk to, and I can totally see all of that shine through.

YES, I do! It’s amazing we discovered each other with all the blogs out there.
Yes, I think I get what you mean. I struggled with what would probably be called social anxiety for a few years where I was just nervous to talk to people or go places and would be really upset if I got invited to a party (I know). But it was really mild compared to what some of my friends would struggle through, and over the past few years I think my identity as a person and a Christian matured and became more secure, and when that happened it also got easier for me to interact with people. Anxiety is definitely tough to live with, and I really hope it continues to improve for you and shapes you for the better as a person. ❤️
Aww, same to you. I love reading your posts and communicating through our blogs and I’m really excited to get to know you a little better for our collab!

not to sound cliche or anything, but yes, out of the million blogs out there in the blogiverse, it was amazing that we happened upon each other. grace.. I’m so sorry you had to go through that; it can suck enormously. haha, I won’t judge. for me personally, when I get invited to a party, I tend to kind of suck it back, and just curl up with a nice book. and YES, on a friday night, too. I’m so glad everything worked out for you in the end. I really hope so too. Ok, same, I am soso excited to be doing this. I sent you an email with an apology, but I’m just going to say it again- sorry for being inactive lately 😦 but in the next few days, everything will go back to normal.
thank you for opening up to me, and for your kind words 💗

haha, yes, couldn’t resist. isn’t it? the way the sounds fall on your tongue is just the best part for me, and why I love the written word so much.
thank you becky! I’m so glad you do; I’ll post more because you like them 🙂

  4. Emma @ AFCTL says:

Group projects suck so much because I am a HUGE control freak, and set up timelines for absolutely everything! 😫 I just want people to write their paragraph, not go off and start their own presentation with another group, leaving us in the lurch, or not doing their work at all?! 😭

I love this tag so much! Might have to use it since I’ve seen it around so much!

    Liked by 1 person

    • Vaishnavi says:

emma, you just described my very frustrating, and very stuck position. in any other case, I would think that a good thing?? I feel you, girl! like, if you want to finish the last part of the project *I* worked on for two hrs., I would very much appreciate that. abolishing group projects altogether would benefit soo many people, and it’s so simple. oh yes, please do! I’ll add you to the list a.s.a.p. it’s fun!

  5. Olivia @ Purely Olivia says:

Thank you so much for the tag!❤️This was such an enjoyable post to read, your blog is giving me all the whimsical and lovely vibes. Haha, I feel you with so much of this- group projects are usually a recipe for disaster, and grammar mistakes, YES. My English teacher used to have grammar mistakes all the time I was like?? no, you are an English teacher. XD Anyway, thank you again for the tag!

aaa, of course. I appreciate your comment, olivia 🌈 ok YES, so true. NO SHE DOESN’T 😭 I don’t know if it’s just me, but it’s nice to know that your English teacher can spell XD. that truly sucks, though 😕 yes! feel free to do it, I’ll add you to the list a.s.a.p. keep in touch 💙
